Duterte cheated by 4 million votes, says youth group

MANILA, Philippines  –  President Rodrigo Duterte should have received more than 20-million votes, not just 16-million; this was according to the Duterte Youth group.

The Duterte Youth group, led by Ronald Cardema, claimed on Tuesday that President Rodrigo Duterte was cheated in last year’s May election and they are now seeking the disqualification of Smartmatic as technology provider in the next poll.

Cardema said they also sought audience with the Commission on Election (Comelec) to conduct an audio-visual presentation where they will be showing the purported discrepancy.

“We want to show that Smartmatic used an additional server during the 2016 elections which was not included in the approved government election flowchart/system,” Cardema told GMA News.

“The computer experts from the Philippine Computer Society will show the patterns that direct to the angle the votes were shaved from Mayor Duterte and other presidential candidates just to boost Mar Roxas to second place,” the youth leader said.

However, Cardema could not say how they arrived at the figures but pointed to the Philippine Computer Society as the more capable of explaining their theory.

Duterte won the May 2016 election with 39.01% of the total votes cast or a total  of 16,601,997 votes. On the other hand, his closest rival, Mar Roxas of the Liberal Party (LP), received only 9,978,175 or 23.45%.

The Comelec has yet to make a statement on Cardema’s claim.
